Ignis – Dragon Fire Organ

The latest fire art project made at Framingham Makerspace and the Worcshop.  Organ pipes are behind the dragon wings and run on propane which is ignited when note is played.  It is played with a MIDI keyboard. Materials funded by an art grant from a regional Burning Man event.

Saxonville Mills Open Studios

Framingham Makerspace will be participating in the Saxonville Mills open studios on Friday evening (5/13) and Saturday (5/14).  Friday evening hours are 5-9PM and Saturday hours are 12-5PM.  Come by and see our new expansion space including Fiber Arts Lab.

We’ve been making good progress on the expansion space buildout.  All the sheetrock is up (except one tiny corner).  Everything except the top three feet around all the pipes has been taped and mudded.  Doors are hung but temporarily removed for mudding and painting.  Electrical is moving along.

We are expanding into 1000 sq-ft across the hall.  Demolition work on the expansion space is happening this week (12/27).  We made great progress on the first day and got the bulk of the work done.
